A Heart of Thankfulness

If You change the way you look at things the things you look at change.

Today I am thankful for how creative God is! The fall is my absolute favorite time of year. A decorator told me recently that the color orange fights depression. Isn’t it fascinating that as the earth is actually dying away and going into dormancy, it produces the various colors of orange! It makes me happy just to drive down the road in my car these days. I confessed to a friend the other day, that I actually missed where I was going because I was so caught up in looking at the trees! 🙂

I am thankful that right now I sit in front of my fire and listen to the rustling of the leaves, oooooh the nostalgia. I can not even begin to describe that feeling, but then again I bet I do not have too! In the end it is always the simple things in life that we are most thankful for.

What are you thankful for today?!

  1. Right now I am thankful for a husband who can cook the best gumbo, ever. Yum! I am also thankful for my parents, very thankful.

  2. I love your thought about the color orange as an antidepressant and the fact that it’s so abundantly present when the leaves are falling and dying. It’s as if God is looking out for us, making Fall orange to cheer us up.

I think it’s really important to be thankful, so today I’m thankful for living and reading your wonderful post. I’ll take that with me through the day and when I see the orange leaves falling!

  3. I am thankful for a best friend who appreciates all of the things I do about fall. I get lost in emotion this time of year because there are so many wonderful things about it.

My favorite color has been orange since I was given an orange chair in kindergarten!

You know, I was driving home on Saturday and thought I missed my turn off the interstate because I was in awe of the colorful leaves and I was talking to you! 🙂
