How Did You Get Your Husband To Let You Do That?

I am back and in full swing of routine and family life. If you are a regular reader you know that I took last week for a girls beach trip for the first time since I have been married. Kelly (From Journey’s With Kelly) joined me, her first girls trip in 13 years! We had quite the group. Three of us were married with children, one who is married no children, and one who is single and wish she was in any of our shoes.

If you ever get the opportunity to take a trip like this, make it with your life long friends for sure! We had a wonderful time reconnecting, remembering and relaxing. The great thing about those who have known you all your life, you truly can let your hair down and relax. The first few days we were just so excited that we laughed and giggled like a group of teenagers, by the end of the week we were all so mellowed we hardly spoke on the way home.

While we were there everyone on the beach and at the pool realized we were without men or children and the most asked question was “How did you get your husband to let you do that?” We would lauuuuugh! My sister said “Well we have been preparing them all year. We planned their activities, the childcare, and packed everyone’s bags, and made sure all they had to do was go to work, and play with the kids.” As true as all that is, I think we have some incredible husbands, too.

Now that I have returned I am refreshed and ready to face the very busy time ahead. I know, as well as my husband knows, that I can be a better mother and wife because of last week. Thank you to my girlfriends and my husband for the wonderful relaxing time… Until next time!

  1. I am so glad that you had such an awesome time with all your friends. You all look so beautiful and refreshed. I think it is important to get away and come back more powered up again. And, it is a blessing to have good husbands. Happy again for all you.
