Peroxide: A Cleaning Miracle?

I received an email recently about the multiple uses for Peroxide. I knew some were true, because I have used it for some of the purposes listed (i.e. canker sores), but I tested some of the others and found that it really does work! My sister, for example, tried putting it on a blood stain in her carpet, and an old yellow throw up stain from her dog, and she said it bubbled just like on a wound, and then completely dissolved the stains. The throw up was old, and had been treated before! She said, “I have been wasting my money on more expensive spot cleaners”. So here are some of the tips that I have found really work with Peroxide which is very cost effective (we are talking 50 cents to a dollar a bottle)

1- It is a great treatment for kids”boo-boos” because it does not sting, plus they love to watch it bubble.Yet it is very strong. My mom used it on a Post surgical open wound on me when I was young, and that was the only disinfectant she used.

2-Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of “Peroxide” to keep them free of
germs.

3-Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a
fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it
on the counters.

4-Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture
whenever you have a cold, or plugged sinuses. It will bubble and help to
kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into a
tissue.

5-Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus,
or other skin infections.

6-You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of
whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour
directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse
with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

7-No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive
pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash. (Small print says mouth wash and
gargle right on the bottle – Most whitening toothpastes contain peroxide)

8- If you  like a natural look to your hair, spray the
50/50 solution on your wet hair  after a shower and comb it through. You
will not have the peroxide burnt  blonde hair like the hair dye packages,
but more natural highlights if your  hair is a light brown, faddish, or
dirty blonde. (I have not actually tried this myself.)

  1. hey angel!

i was reading the site and i just thought i would leave a comment about the peroxide in your hair. “sun in” is peroxide and we all know what to much sun in looks like…so just be warned of doing this to often…

  2. That is good. I never thought of using peroxide like that. I know that the doctors at the hospital told me to use it after my c-section to kill bacterica growth. But it good to know the other uses for it. Thanks.
