Duty is ours, results are God’s. ~John Quincy Adams
Today, I exercised my right to vote. It has been a long hard journey for America and it is nearly over. I have been offended, provoked to thought, had to bite my tongue on more than one occasion for the sake of peace, and am sure I have done the same to others. I hope that if you are an American that you have taken the time to let your vote be cast.
As I stood in line this morning to vote, preparing for a long line but found a short one instead (yeah), I looked around at everyone standing in line with me. I felt united to all standing there, a sense of pride that we all cared enough about our country to be there taking the time to express ourselves. And not forgetting that only a couple of generations ago I would not have been able to cast my vote and we should be sure not to forget that.
No matter what the results I know God is in control. I have an overwhelming peace that God knows. And whoever the candidate is, He can count on my prayers for God to give him clear direction, safety, and peace for the next 4 years.
“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” ~John Quincy Adams
“You will never know how much it has cost our generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you make good use of it.” ~John Quincy Adams
